When you think of Baltimore web design "on the cheap", or Baltimore web design "on a budget", you start looking online for search engine results for "free Baltimore web design" and other related Baltimore web design search terms. You will find many people using key phrases like "Baltimore web design" in sites to make you find their Baltimore web design website through Google. What these people do is use the words "Baltimore web design" throughout their web design site to lure you to their pages - but it doesn't imply their designs are any good - nor does it guarantee they will treat you with respect when you deal with them. You will also see many small businesses saying they are Baltimore Web Design yet have turned to using the Wordpress platform to create their own Baltimore web design websites. Let me give you a bit of advice and I will continue... a website is a place for reading information about a topic of interest, it could be a place to view media of interest, or a place to shop. A weblog platform (ie: Wordpress) is not a place to create the 'standard websites' we all know and use. Yes, you can make a Wordpress blog template have navigation bars and static web pages to create a 'website' look and feel - but who's kidding who? Any blogging platform can do that!

Through time, Baltimore web design websites and Baltimore web design methods have changed dramatically. Back when I first got a computer in the mid 90's, a good website contained well written content (had at least one good page) and contained links to items the reader might find to be interesting, or related to the information posted therein.

Then, the web transformed into graphics-driven media. Websites that looked much better yet lost the quality of content they may have had in the past. Instead of searching a topic of interest and finding a well written web page, now we find well designed graphics with little to no useful content. Search "Baltimore web design" and you'll see dozens of crappy sites.

Some Baltimore web design websites are beautifully designed but have little traffic. Why? Because readers still crave well written content! Once a viewer sees a pretty design and some weak content and few articles of real interest, you lose a customer, a viewer, a friend on the web. Although I design websites using Baltimore web design as my number one keyword phrase, I struggle with concepts for design because my customers seldom think of the true content they need to supply for a great website. Most people think Baltimore web design is all still cheats and keywords, meta tags, social media pages, and the like. How that may be a little true, a great website compels a reader to stay on and read the whole page (home page), add it as a favorite (bookmark), and share it with their friends. How long has it been since you found a good website that you sent as a link to a friend by email, or in any other way?

Here's the "meat and potatoes" of my article. Do you ever look at a website such as craigslist or Google? Both are simply designed - no heavy graphics, no fancy designs. They are both used by nearly everyone on a daily basis. How about Google News? Take a look at that site versus MSNBC's site. One is graphics intense (MSNBC) and the other is 'just the news' without the bs. Which one do you read? Which seems better to use on a mobile phone? I think you can clearly see that content is king - not graphic design. Graphics are great for online stores and such. If you are trying to sell a product and making a customer feel "happy" about it, graphics can help with the selling process greatly. But if you aren't offering a shopping cart on your site, you should re-think what your site is meant to do. When you need a great website, you can do it better with thought and content. Forget the graphics. They just got boring, didn't they? By the way, this Baltimore web design experiment was purely designed to show you how to rank well for a given search phrase, such as Baltimore web design.
